Torx heads are found on many items.  The dimension "A", is the maximum measurement across the "points" of the driver, and will obviously be less than the corresponding dimension in the socket. Further, there are minor differences between the dimensions for different types of driver, but these are minimal. Allowing for these differences and tolerances, 
One may find a variation of 3 - 4 thou on the dimensions shown.
